The Maryland General Assembly ended their 2020 legislative session three weeks early -- without passing any climate change legislation. We are grateful to our legislators for quickly passing a bill to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and for taking proactive measures to save lives. But there is still a chance for them to pass climate action this year, when the General Assembly reconvenes for a special session in late May. The "Climate Solutions Act" (SB 926, HB 1425) would strengthen our climate plan to be in line with the science, and we are running out of time to pass it.
Thank your state legislators for protecting Maryland from COVID-19 and urge them to make climate change a top priority in the May special session!
