President Biden struck a deal with Republicans and Democrats in the US Senate on an infrastructure bill containing only a small fraction of the climate spending Biden had originally proposed. Democratic leaders say that after they pass a bipartisan package, they will then pass a partisan infrastructure bill that will include the bold climate justice policies we need, but we will not be satisfied with promises of a future bill. If we don’t take action now, we risk losing our last, best chance of solving the climate crisis.
