Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia has told the Biden Administration he is “strongly opposed” to the President’s legislative plan to reach 80% clean electricity by 2030. This could sink the President’s climate agenda just as Biden is about to leave for last-chance global climate talks in Scotland in November.
But groups like Sunrise and CCAN Action Fund refuse to give up on the Clean Electricity Performance Plan and we’re telling Congress not to give up either. That plan would cut 400 million tons of carbon pollution from our economy. It’s a core part of the Build Back Better Act. If not this policy, then what?
Send a note to Congress telling your leaders NOT to give up on the Clean Electricity Performance Plan unless there’s a replacement plan to cut 400 million tons of carbon pollution from the grid.
