FIX the Climate Solutions Now Act

Tell your Maryland Delegates to Stand Up to Pepco, BG&E, and Washington Gas

URGENT: Email YOUR Maryland state delegates. Tell them to fix Senate Bill 528 by standing up to polluters like Pepco and Washington Gas. We need a fair and rapid study of how to move Maryland toward all-electric energy systems in our buildings and transportation sectors.

The Climate Solutions Now Act (SB 528) passed in the Maryland Senate this week. It is a good down payment on the problem of climate change in Maryland. It sets a goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions 60% statewide by 2030. It also creates a “Climate Crisis Corps” and the beginnings of a state Green Bank.

BUT on the key issue of mandating electric energy systems in Maryland buildings and transportation, it falls way short. Polluting companies forced a 2-year delay by supporting an unneeded “study” that won’t come out until nearly 2024.

Send a quick email to tell YOUR members of the Maryland House of Delegates. Urge them to fix SB 528. Fill out the information on this page to view the pre-prepared sample text.
