Tell Governor Hogan NOT to Veto the
Climate Solutions Now Act of 2022!

Maryland can no longer wait to address climate change. The latest report from the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change made it clear: “Delay means death!” The Climate Solutions Now Act of 2022 is a step in the right direction to combat climate change and will put Maryland on the right track to being a climate leader. The Climate Solutions Now Act has passed through both the Maryland Senate and House chambers. The final step for the bill is for Governor Larry Hogan to sign it.

Email Governor Hogan and urge him to pass the Climate Solutions Now Act and make this climate legislation the LAW!

Dear Governor Hogan,

I am a Maryland resident and I am writing to urge you to sign the Climate Solutions Now Act of 2022 (SB 528) into law TODAY!

Maryland can no longer wait to address climate change. From 2010 to 2020, Maryland experienced 31 extreme weather events, costing up to $10 billion in damages. I support Climate Solutions Now because it is a common-sense step forward to combat climate change.

Climate Solutions Now benefits all Marylanders by setting a goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions 60% statewide by 2031. It also establishes Maryland’s intent to move towards broad electrification, including vehicles and buildings. Importantly, it invests in overburdened communities by adding climate-focused jobs within the Chesapeake Conservation Corps. In addition, it targets climate investments in low-to-moderate income communities.

I am one of the many Marylanders who support climate action. According to a recent poll by OpinionWorks, 77% of state voters want Maryland to take steps to address climate change. We MUST enact Climate Solutions Now.
