Thank you for your public service. As your constituent, I'm asking you to vote NO to including pro-fossil fuel “permitting reform” as part of the debt ceiling negotiations. In particular, I am staunchly opposed to efforts to greenlight the Mountain Valley Pipeline and cut community review for fossil fuel projects. This disastrous Dirty Deal would be an affront to environmental justice and put us barreling down a path to climate instability.

Instead, I am asking you to support efforts to get us to a clean, resilient grid powered by renewables. We should prioritize siting renewables on rooftops and degraded lands, and building transmission lines through existing rights of way. We should insist on thorough environmental reviews that consult impacted communities early on in the process – while cutting process inefficiencies that hold us back from achieving 100% clean energy. And we should maximize energy efficiency and conservation as we work to build a reliable and resilient grid.

Once again, I am asking you to vote NO on pro-fossil fuel permitting reform and the Mountain Valley Pipeline, and YES on policies that get us to a resilient grid powered by clean energy.
