Trump’s proposed budget would have cut funding for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) by $2 billion! This would have weakened research for our National Weather Service along with programs that test seafood safety, help farmers deal with droughts, and much more.

Thankfully, Senator Chris Van Hollen, who is the ranking member on the subcommittee that funds NOAA, has fought long and hard to make sure NOAA is fully funded in the Senate draft of next year’s budget.
