The 2026 legislative session has only just begun in Virginia and fossil fuel allies are already doing everything they can to roll back our climate progress! There are already a half dozen bills that would benefit polluters at the expense of our planet and people. We need YOU to reach out to your state legislators urging them to REJECT these attacks on our communities and climate!

As your constituent, I’m writing to ask you to OPPOSE a group of bills designed to attack Virginia’s key climate and environmental protection bills: HB615 (McNamara), HB1031 (Wilt), HB1141 (Griffin), HB1275 (Phillips).

Over the past several years, Virginia has taken important steps to reduce harmful air pollution, invest in clean energy, and protect communities that have historically borne the brunt of environmental harm. These bills  would undermine these achievements by weakening our clean energy targets and prolonging our reliance on fossil fuels—at the expense of public health, affordability, and long-term economic stability.

Clean energy is not only a climate solution; it is an economic opportunity for Virginia. Policies like the Virginia Clean Economy Act and the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative support good local jobs, usher in the lowest-cost energy resources, and help ensure that our communities are more resilient in the face of extreme heat, flooding, and other climate impacts. Rolling them back would move the Commonwealth in the wrong direction.

I respectfully ask you to stand with your constituents and protect Virginia’s climate progress by opposing bills outlined above. Thank you for your time and for your service to our district.
