Governor Wes Moore’s administration is trying to help a cryptomining company build a methane gas pipeline, private power plant, and dirty data center complex right along the Potomac River, just months after the Potomac River fell victim to the largest sewage spill in U.S. history!

This is unacceptable!

Sign the petition today to tell Governor Moore: Stop helping a crypto company build a massive power plant and gas pipeline to run dirty data centers on the Potomac River!

We, the undersigned Marylanders, call on you to unequivocally withdraw your support for TeraWulf’s proposal to convert the Morgantown Generating Station into a one-gigawatt methane gas power plant. The project would likely represent over one billion dollars of investment into antiquated fossil fuel infrastructure, including a 20-mile-long methane gas pipeline. TeraWulf is counting on your administration’s support to “expedite” the project’s environmental permitting process at a time when Maryland’s climate goals hang in the balance.

Governor Moore: Please do not support this expensive and polluting methane gas plant and pipeline. This project only benefits Big Tech, NOT the Marylanders who elected you to be their governor. It would not make our energy any cheaper, our air any cleaner, or our communities any more resilient. Data centers in Maryland must run on 100% clean energy, not dirty fossil fuels.

Sincerely,
